MOIN KIKHIA CONDEMNS POLITICAL FAILURES LEADING TO TRIPOLI BLOODSHED

Following the armed clashes and multiple fatalities in Tripoli yesterday, Mr Moin Kikhia has issued this statement:

“This violence is the direct result of the failure to reach a political solution for our country. Too many people on all sides are putting their interests and their ambitions ahead of the interests of the Libyan people. We desperately need a fair, lasting and democratic solution to our political divisions , and the international community must press for that solution, because a stable , peaceful and prosperous Libya has a vital role to play in the world“

"بعد الاشتباكات المسلحة والقتلى المتعددين في طرابلس أمس، أصدر السيد معين الكيخيا هذا البيان:

هذا العنف هو نتيجة مباشرة للفشل في التوصل إلى حل سياسي لبلدنا. الكثير من الناس من جميع الأطراف يضعون مصالحهم وطموحاتهم على مصالح الشعب الليبي. نحن بحاجة ماسة إلى حل عادل ودائم وديمقراطي لانقساماتنا السياسية، ويجب على المجتمع الدولي الضغط من أجل هذا الحل، لأن ليبيا مستقرة وسلمية ومزدهرة لها دور حيوي تلعبه في العالم."
